Frequently Asked Questions
Yes – We will be a Christian school, but we will not be connected to a specific denomination.
No – We will incorporate some elements common to classical education, but our school will not be inherently classical.
Possibly – Parent interest and need will determine if SCS provides after-school care.
Yes – Students will wear simple uniforms consisting of khaki bottoms and an official SCS shirt.
Occasionally – Daily instruction will be face-to-face interaction between teachers and students using primarily printed texts rather than electronic platforms. Students will use computers for tasks such as dyslexia screening and standardized tests.
No - Students will bring their own lunch.
Yes – Schools that are accredited and receive Indiana School Choice vouchers will conduct state testing with students. However, we will not ‘teach to the test.’
Yes – SCS plans to support extracurricular activities based on interest and demand.
The length of the school day and the school calendar will be similar to other schools in the community.
Our school day will run from 8:30 – 3:30.
Summit Christian School will begin taking applications in early 2025.
