Our Story

In 2022, the senior pastor of Glad Tidings Church, Dr. Kevin Holt, summoned a focus group to discuss the possibility of launching a school. The group met regularly to research and discuss this possibility. In 2023, a school launch team was formed, and in the fall of 2024, a board was formed to oversee the launch and operation of the school. The team members are working diligently so that Summit Christian School is ready to open its doors for the 2025-2026 school year.

Partnership for a Christ-Centered Future

At Summit Christian School, we believe that strong partnerships—between families, teachers, and fellow Believers—are the foundation for a thriving education. As an affiliate of Glad Tidings Church, we are committed to equipping students with academic excellence, strong character, and a deep-rooted faith in Jesus. Glad Tidings is a growing, multi-generational, and biblically sound church that meets in multiple locations in Muncie and East Central Indiana. Learn more at gtnetwork.org

We believe that we are stronger together as we shape the next generation of Christ-followers and world-changers, and we invite you to partner with us on this journey!

Our Name & Mascot

“Summit” has biblical overtones and reflects significant times when people were changed because they had an encounter with God. The concept of a summit represents the highest point of a mountain, striving toward a high ideal of excellence, and reaching a pinnacle of potential. It also reflects an intention to grow in knowledge, faith, and character.

"Defender" embodies the protective and steadfast nature of the Christian faith. Being a defender speaks to our responsibility to equip ourselves for the mission of defending our faith (1 Peter 3:15; Ephesians 6:10-18).  A defender symbolizes vigilance, strength, and a commitment to safeguard what is good and true. This is a representation of the school’s dedication to nurturing students who will protect and promote Christian values in the world.
